There are a lot of video editing software suites avilable on the market ranging from a few hundred to thousands of [insert your local currency here] . But there are also a number of very good video editing software packages out there for those without the ability to spend on Final Cut, Adobe Premier or the other leading products.
So if you are a school or youth group or an enthusiastic junior with a shortfall in pocket money and you just want to create some content (because after all YouTube needs more good content) or have the opportunity to learn new skills then these products can be used, legally, without restriction to gain that advantage or reach that goal.
But does this mean you’re going to get an inferior product? Well sometimes it does but what if that inferior product is still much more than what you actually need? Well then it’s still good enough and if it saves you cash then you can put that towards something else like training, a trip to a location to take more video or just some more Our Cow Molly Ice cream.

But the packages below are not inferior products and they are free. Here is a short list of very good software packages I’ve used that will meet the needs of all but the most demanding video editor.

Blender
